Watching Desperate Polar Bears Searching For Arctic Sea Ice is Truly Heartbreaking

Watching Desperate Polar Bears Searching For Arctic Sea Ice is Truly HeartbreakingWith the depletion of arctic sea ice polar bears are forced to swim for longer and longer distances looking for ice to support them. Far too many polar bears are drown due to the lack of ice. Some get back to land and die later, exhausted and starved. The two main reasons for the decreasing population of polar bears has been starvation and drowning due to the collapse of the northern ice sheets.

Polar bears were listed as a threatened species in the United States’ Endangered Species Act of May 2008. Biologists are alerting that, given the current weather trends, their survival is doubtful.

  1. Give me a break, polar bears can swim 75 miles...they may look cute, but they are huge and very dangerous
