Undiscovered Hiker’s Paradise in Yading Nature Reserve, China
Situated high above sea level, Yading is a mountain sanctuary, that the outside world found out about only in the late 1990′s. The place is so special and visited by the Tibetan pilgrims, that even three peaks are sanctified by the 5th Dalai Lama.
Visitors come here today to admire the spectacular nature and have a memorable hike in the mountains. Starting from Yading village it can take 6 days to complete the trail around the sacred mountains. The air is fresh, the skies are blue, the water from the streams is clear and drinkable. There are now crowds yet, only making this place more special.
Why to go there?: The landscape is certainly breathtaking, just like the hike. You don’t need to be professional, but definitely in a good physical shape, since the paths are spread out in a mountainous area in a high altitude.
When to go there?: Right now if you want to see the still unspoiled nature. However, there are plans to make the place more accessible for tourism and develop facilities. The weather is the most pleasant in autumn.
How to get there?: Only one bus goes to Daocheng from Kangding. The journey takes about 13 hours.
