They Carved An Entire City Out Of Ice…And It’s Beyond Awesome.
If you are a lover of winter weather, you may want to book your next trip to Harbin, China. Harbin is the capital of the province of Heilongjiang and is located on the north-east side of the country. The city is holding its annual Harbin International Ice and Snow Sculpture Festival.
The festival first began in 1963, but was suspended during China’s Cultural Revolution. It resumed in 1985. The international event began on January 5 and will run until February 25, 2015.
There are two main venues: Sun Island and Ice and Snow World. The first showcases marvelous ice sculptures, while the second features building-scale carvings with colorful LED lights and is best viewed at night.
