The park itself is a popular and the most visited spot in Alberta all year round. Hiking, climbing and camping are things to do in summer, while skiing is the most beloved activity in winter. Since Peyto is surrounded with high peaks, there are various spots from where to view the lake, Bow Summit being the highest one.
Why to go there?: See one of the most beautiful lakes in Canada. Great views, hiking and boating opportunities attract visitors all year round.
When to go there?: In summer if you wish to see that turquoise water color. Nevertheless it is beautiful in winter as well.
How to get there?: The best way to get to the park is by car from the states of Alberta and British Columbia. The lake is easily accessed from the Icefields Parkway. It is a short walk from the Peyto Lake view point parking lot and the wonderful sight opens in front of your eyes.
