That's An Inspiring Story From A Para-Snowboarder Woman. She's Just Amazing!
When Michelle's Salt leg was amputated, she refused to let it define her. Instead, she found strength and purpose in her best friend -- snowboarding, ultimately becoming a competitive para-snowboarder.
Michelle is the newest addition to the National team, 2013 was her first season as a competitive snowboarder. She currently lives in Calgary, AB where she trains with Evolve Snowboard Club at COP and Lake Louise. When she's not training, she enjoys other sports such as cycling, wakeboarding and kayaking. She also spends time speaking for STARS and Canadian Blood services as patient/receipient. She is relatively new to the para-snowboard world as she lost her leg above the right knee in June 2011.
