Bizarre Ice Hummocks In Lake Baikal On A 20 Million-Year-Old Lake
These bizarre but beautiful Ice Hummocks can be found in Lake Baikal, located in the southern part of eastern Siberia in Russia. The lake itself is a natural wonder, at least 20 million years old and known as one of the largest and deepest lakes in the world. It also is holding one-fifth of the world’s freshwater.
When the lake freezes is in the winter, the ice is expanding and creates these wonderful ice hummocks..
