On Dec. 31, 2013, a driver left the Highway 140 West roadway and plunged through the ice of Upper Klamath Lake. The driver and a dog escaped without life threatening injuries. Crews from Ace Towing and ODOT came back to the scene that afternoon to recover the vehicle and empty trailer.
