After A Russian Airliner Froze To The Ground, Passengers Got Out And Gave It A Push
Passengers due to take a flight in Siberia, Russia, had to do the unthinkable when they were asked to get out and push the aircraft after its brake pads froze solid.
The plane was trying to take off from the Russian town of Igarka, but was unable to move after the temperature fell to -61.6 Fahrenheit (-52 Celcius). 74 passengers ended up getting out of the plane and helping the seven-member crew and technical staff to help move the frozen Tupolev Tu-134 plane to the takeoff runway after the pushback tractor was unable to budge the aircraft onto the taxiway.
