Tromso – Your Next Favorite Winter Destination, Norway

Also known as the capital of the Arctic, Tromso is your next favorite winter destination. The biggest city in the Northern Norway is the best place to admire the Aurora Borealis – one of the main attractions in the Arctic Circle. Incidentally Tromso drops in the zone where the Northern Lights are visible for about 6 hours a day! There are numerous of other activities that include museums, great food and picturesque Nordic views as well.

Here you can find great music: from Tromsø Symphony Orchestra to electronic scene, that has produced worldwide known duo Röyksopp. The Polar Museum is also a popular spot, which introduces history of Arctic expeditions. The city also has a ski track and a ski jump, that will please every adventurer. The town is proud of its cuisine, which features a variety of fresh seafood. In December Christmas markets offer authentic sweets, cakes and traditional crafts.

Why to go there?: The best place to see the Northern Lights. A very Nordic-like town with rich cultural life and plenty activities.
When to go there?: Tromso drops into a subarctic climate zone, which experiences cold winters and short mild summers. The Polar Night takes over from 21 November to 21 January. Aurora is visible from August to late April.
How to get there?: There is an easy access. The best, fastest and relatively cheap way in is getting an international or domestic flight to Langnes Airport. Another option is getting there by train or bus.
