He Starts Snowboarding Down A Mountain Until He Sees The Snow Crumbling. This Is TERRIFYING!!
Skiing and snowboarding are two sports that have some inherent danger in them, regardless of how professionally they are practiced. Plenty of families go on vacation up in the mountains to ski the day away, but even those relaxing family trips can easily turn to disaster with a few wrong turns. Yet, when all goes right, these sports can be some of the most satisfying and fun things in the world.
Snowboarder and mountain rescue worker Sorin Radu, however, might not think one of his recent snowboarding trips was very much fun. In fact, he would probably describe it as downright terrifying.
As you can see in the below video, everything starts off just fine for Radu, a seasoned and very experienced snowboarder. He’s got all his gear on and a GoPro camera clipped to his helmet to record a great first-person view of his ride down the Retezat Mountains.
Radu begins to slide down the mountain slowly, but in just a few seconds you can see, as he turns his head, that the camera captures what looks like strange crumbling or ripples in the snow behind him. The rippling and crumbling continues until, suddenly, Sorin is hit by a barrage of snow that blows over him and his camera.
With the camera still rolling, we can see a first-person view of what we now realize is Sorin Radu in an actual avalanche. It is absolutely terrifying!
As snow continues to pile up around him, blow through the air, and cascade down the mountain, Radu does his best to maintain his position, but the snow covers him almost completely.
The avalanche clears in a few seconds more and we can see daylight, so Radu was extremely lucky to not be fully submerged, but this is still a very close brush with death.
According to a YouTube comment, Radu survived the avalanche unharmed, but I’m sure he’s going to remember this video for a very long time. Stay safe out there, folks!
